Data Mining Case Studies and Practice Prize is an international peer-reviewed workshop highlighting successful real-world applications of data mining. DMCS applications are wide-ranging: (a) data mining systems that have uncovered massive tax fraud rings (MITRE) (b) identification of patients at risk of heart disease, and detection of breast cancer (Siemens Medical) (c) oil concentration measurement after catastrophic oils spills (University of South Florida), (d) Fraud detection in credit card transactions (VISA) and many other applications.
